Stuttering agony

#40

Pam Mertz, the @stutterrockstar, shared a moving explanation and all-too familiar frustration with stuttering by one of her readers, Adam. Adam hits the nail on the head as he describes what it feels like to grow up stuttering. As much as I’m open and positive about my stuttering NOW, before acceptance and all, I wasn’t too far off from Adam’s description. And even now it’s still a source of awkwardness and embarrassment. When you stutter, you have to take the good with the bad.

I highly recommend for those who don’t stutter to get an exact description of the sheer turmoil we go through (and all the crap we have to eventually overcome by ourselves). You don’t suddenly become accepting and positive overnight.

I also highly recommend this to fellow stutterers for obvious reasons. It helps to share our similar experiences.
